johnny's immediate reaction upon catching this pokemon in the ilex woods was to pick it up and squeeze it slightly to make sure it wasn't a sentient stuffed animal. emporio tried to tell him this wasn't the best idea, but it wasn't quick enough and then johnny got his hand chomped on by a tiny baby bird beak. that sums up their relationship well enough.
